A question we get quite frequently is: Who is Zoe? Zoe is our daughter’s middle name. Zoe came from ancient Greek and means “life”. In addition to liking the name Zoe (obviously, since it is our daughter’s middle name), we felt like the name Zoe was relatively unique for this area. This has been both a positive, and sometimes it also creates challenges on the pronunciation. Technically, there should be a diaeresis over the “e” showing that the e is pronounced separately, but this is not widely used in the English language. We pronounce Zoe: [ZOH] + [EE]. Like the way you would say Joey, but not like the way you would say Joe.
